Social Events

In addition to having fun racing at the pool every Saturday, the Swim Club holds a number of social events during the year.

Lawn Bowling Day

The 2011 Swim Club Lawn Bowling Day will be held at 3.30pm on Sunday 27th November 2011 at Drummoyne Sports Club, 2 Hythe St, Drummoyne.

The cost will be $7.50 per person, which includes a sausage sizzle.

Rodd Island Family Picnic Day

Every year, we hold a family picnic day at Rodd Island.  This year's picnic was held on Sunday 7th March 2010. 

The picnic is a fun day for you and your family to meet and socialise with other members and their families.

Rodd Island is the small island in the middle of Iron Cove. Although it's only a stone's throw from the pool, most people never have the opportunity to visit.

BYO food, drink, cricket bats and soccer balls. Please note that BBQ's are not allowed on the island.

The cost is only about $8 per person for the landing fee. 

Unfortunately we are only permitted to take 50 people, so book early!

Relay Fun Day

On the last Saturday of the season we celebrate with a Relay Fun Day.

Hotly-contested events include the Boogie Board race and the Gerribo Cup, made of chocolate and other edible goodies!

Swimming Club Dinner

At the end of the season, we hold a Club dinner in the Water Polo room at Drummoyne Pool. 

The 2009 dinner will be held on Saturday 21st March 2009 for parents, members and partners over 18 years old.

This dinner is a great opportunity to see what your fellow Swim Club members look like with their clothes on and to socialise with other parents in a relaxed atmosphere!

The evening will commence at 7pm, with dinner being served at 7.30pm.

The cost is $50 per person, with BYO drinks.  Kathy Horton will be taking numbers and collecting payments over the next few weeks. Numbers are limited, so please book early.  For any last minute bookings or enquiries call Kathy on 9713-9059.

Presentation Day

The Club holds its annual Presentation Day in late May, at which trophies and medals are presented.

The 2009 Presentation Day will be held in the Water Polo Room at the pool on Saturday 30th May 2009 at 3pm.
